Installation mistakes can also lead to early leaks. Over-tightening plastic fittings with tools can crack the material or distort the threads, while connections that are too loose allow water to escape through tiny gaps.

Most of these leaks can be avoided with a few simple practices. Turning off the T-adapter valve after each use removes pressure from the hose and greatly extends the lifespan of the sprayer.
